Edinburgh Christmas Markets open 17th December 2023 until 7th January 2024 7 weeks of celebration and fun! The stalls are open 10am-10pm, apart from Christmas Day. Slightly shorter hours on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and Hogmanay 

Well, look no further.

Where it all happens

Princes St Gardens, George St, St Andrews Square and the Mound Precinct are transformed into a smorgasboard of Christmas Activities.

The tree on the Mound

Gifted from Norway every year since WW2, in thanks for Scotlands support

What to look for:

George Street

The ice-rink is back on George St. this year, bigger than ever.   It's undercover so whatever the weather you can enjoy this Christmas tradition. Street entertainment will also be in this area.

What to look for:

The Dome

The Dome is an Edinburgh landmark.   Visit to see the magnificent Christmas decorations, the incredible architecture  and to experience the delightful cocktails. 

Visit Santa

You can visit Santa in West Princes St Gardens.   What I love about this experience is that Santa tells stories to groups of youngsters before the present giving begins.

Visit the Botanics

The illuminations take you on a magical path of winter delights.  One of my favourite Christmas activities.

Enjoy Browsing the Christmas Markets

There are lots of options to keep you warm: Mulled Wine & Cider, Hot Chocolate and Coffee stalls.

What to look for:

Torchlight Procession

If your stay extends past Christmas, the Hogmany Celebrations kick off with the Torchlight Procession on the 30th Decemebr 29
